If there’s a group that taken Soup Swap to heart and soul, it might just be the Merry Soup Swappers of Sherwood, Oregon. For years, we heard from them…sometimes calling them Portland, sometime Portland, West… but truth be told we ought to just be calling them SHERWOOD. I’ve lost count of how many Soup Swap’s this group has had. They so rule that place.
They are on to their second Soup Swap of the long, dreary Portland winter. Their hostess Julie writes, “It’s just over 2 weeks until Soup Swap. This is looking like a good weekend for me to finish up my soup and get it frozen. I tried a new recipe because I couldn’t resist the “label”. It’s called Aunt Jojo’s Politically Incorrect Sausage and Potato Soup.” There’s a recipe I am curious to hear more about. Could there really be JoJo’s in a soup? What makes it Political to start with and then Incorrect once it’s got political. Could it be worse then my mothers love of Velveeta in soup? The mind boggles.
Julie adds, “We’ll be happy to collect canned soup or other canned food for the Food Bank and see that it gets to a contribution center.”
